FAQ's
Q. Where can we have our wedding?
A. I've officiated weddings & baptisms in a park, country clubs, beside a lake, their home, back yard, a church or chapel. The choice is yours!
Q. Can we write our own vows?
A. Certainly, in fact I encourage it! You can write the entire ceremony, use a standard format or we can write a personalized ceremony together based on samples and resources I'll provide. Again, the choice is yours.
Q. Is pre-marital counseling required?
A. In a word, no, but it is available. I feel that some ministers who require pre-marital counseling do so for the purpose of indoctrinating the couple in the theology of their church. As an inter-denominational minister, I will marry couples of any faith, or no faith at all.
Q. Do you marry those who have been divorced?
A. Yes, I am happy to perform the ceremony of anyone who has a marriage license. My job is to serve you, not to be your judge. I often had other pastors, from Catholic priests to conservative fundamentalists refer their couples to me when their own church did not allow them to perform the ceremony.
Q. Do you officiate at non-religious ceremonies?
A. Yes, of course. Although I am an ordained minister, I respect the wishes of couples who desire a non-religious ceremony, and am honored to serve them.
Q. How far will you travel?
A. Time permitting, I will travel as far as needed! If round trip travel exceeds 100 miles or an overnight stay is required, I may ask for a travel expense reimbursement.
Q. How will you dress?
A. I generally prefer a dark colored suit and tie, but I dress as appropriate. As you can see in my photos, I'm comfortable in casual dress as well!
Q. Will you stay for dinner & say a meal blessing?
A. Time permitting and if invited, I'd be happy to stay and honored to say Grace.
Q. Will you help with our rehearsal?
A. Absolutely! The rehearsal is a great time for the wedding party & families to get acquainted and to run through the ceremony. I can coordinate the rehearsal myself or work with your wedding planner.
Q. Will you perform same sex weddings?
A. Yes. I am honored to officiate weddings for couples regardless of sexual orientation, race, color, creed or religion.
